Sweet Water - Appling Archers

“As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.”      Proverbs 27:17

Late last year, Appling Archer Phillip Knox tried riding an ATV upside down as he was herding his Dad's cows to the barn. That experiment didn't work too well but while he was recovering from a broken leg he penned some thoughts that were meant to be shared.

In person Phillip is one of the most gracious folks you'll ever meet, a man who truly walks in the
admonition of Jesus to love God and love your neighbor. And trust me, you are Phillip's neighbor.
Phillip gave me his work, bound neatly and titled "Open My Eyes and Let Me See." My instructions were to mark it up with a red pen and turn it into a proper manuscript. The trouble with that is that I didn't have but one red pen and used that up quickly! Far outweighing that minor detail though, was the tremendous blessing I received reading through Phillip's anecdotes about God and what He has done in Phillip's life.

I've done a little editing, preserving as much conversational Georgia idiom as I could and hopefully maintaining the "essence" of Phillip. But as he will be quick to tell you, what follows is not about Phillip Knox at all; nor is it about editing. "Open My Eyes and Let Me See" is about "God [who] so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."John 3:16

Open My Eyes and Let Me See - Phillip Knox

I hope you'll read and be blessed.

Thanks - Hal Rowland
